We welcomed Aw Shucks, our newest wine, to our portfolio last week with a special meet the winemaker launch party! Rob Deignan helped us create this wonderful new white wine blend that you can now find in DC, Maryland and Delaware.
About Aw Shucks Wine
Aw Shucks is a special blend of white grape varietals from the Fingerlakes region of New York. This wine was created especially to pair with seafood dishes such as crabs and oysters. The blend consists of Aromella, Cayuga White, Vidal Blanc and Vignoles.
Tasting Notes
The nose is intensely floral with honeysuckle, pineapple and peach notes. In the palate this wine is dry yet fruity. Notes of pear and mandarin orange. Finished with a refreshing acidity that leaves you craving another sip!
Serve chilled and shuck on!
Launch Party
We wanted to commemorate the launch of Aw Shucks with a special party. Rob Deignan, the winemaker came to town to tell us all about the wine and what went into making it happen. We invited special guests and had delicious food to pair with Aw Shucks from the Savory Spoon Catering Company. The crab cakes, shrimp, ceviche, and oysters all paired perfectly with our new white blend. Photos from the party are below!
